Cold Jet service and support: factory-trained engineers
A Cold Jet dry ice blasting machine is an investment of tens of thousands of euros that has to last for years. The quality of your service partner determines whether that machine still runs as expected five years from now. ColdBlast supplies service on every Cold Jet machine in the Netherlands, with factory-trained engineers, original parts and a direct escalation path to Cold Jet USA.
This article explains what our service agreement covers, how we handle NEN 3140 inspections, what response time you can expect when a fault occurs, and how to request service; for machines bought through ColdBlast or elsewhere.

What a service agreement includes
A ColdBlast service agreement bundles periodic maintenance, NEN inspection, priority response on faults and original parts into one contract. No surprises afterwards, predictable annual cost and your production stays protected.
- ✓Preventive maintenance (one or two visits per year, matched to your usage)
- ✓NEN 3140 inspection with a certificate for your safety file
- ✓Original Cold Jet parts, sourced through the factory channel
- ✓Priority response on fault visits for contract holders
- ✓Cold Jet CONNECT® remote diagnostics (where IoT machines are available)
- ✓Fixed annual price; no surprise invoices
- ✓Access to operator training updates
- ✓Trade-in discount when upgrading to a newer model
NEN 3140 inspection: a legal obligation
Cold Jet dry ice blasting machines are electrical work equipment and fall under Dutch occupational safety law for annual or biennial inspection (NEN 3140). Employers are required to carry out this inspection. Without it you run risks during labor inspections, and insurers can reject claims.
During routine maintenance we carry out the NEN 3140 inspection, including measurements, visual inspection and certification. We keep the inspection history in our service records so you always know when the next check is due.
Preventive maintenance: what we do
The exact work depends on your machine type, but it typically covers the following.
| Component | Work | Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Dosing system (rotor and pad) | Wear inspection, replacement at the wear limit | Annually |
| Compressed air filter (20 micron) | Cleaning or replacement | Annually |
| Blast hose and coupling | Visual inspection for wear, pressure check | Annually |
| Blast gun and nozzle | Inspection, replacement at the wear limit | Annually |
| Electrical installation | NEN 3140 inspection with certificate | Annually |
| Cold Jet CONNECT® software | Updates and configuration check | At each visit |
| Programmed recipes | Backup, reconfiguration if needed | On request |
Our service principles
Four commitments from our service team. Not marketing language; concrete working agreements.
- ✓Expert: factory-trained by Cold Jet, certified on every model; no learning curve at your expense
- ✓Accessible: on-site within 24 hours on contract faults, phone advice the same day
- ✓Solution-oriented: one engineer, no chain of four handovers; direct escalation to Cold Jet USA on complex issues
- ✓Transparent: fixed contract price, pre-agreed scope and a clear SLA. No hidden extras
24-hour support and remote diagnostics
The Cold Jet IoT platform Cold Jet CONNECT® (standard on the i³ MicroClean 2, PCS Ultra and PLT Ultra) gives us remote access to your machine. When you report a fault we log in, diagnose the issue and, where possible, push a software update without an engineer having to come on site.
For non-IoT models we run a 24-hour hotline. Phone advice the same business day; an on-site visit within 24 hours for contract holders.
Service on machines bought elsewhere
If you did not buy your Cold Jet machine through ColdBlast you can still come to us for service. Our engineers are factory-trained on every Cold Jet model. On the first visit we run a full machine audit and put together a service plan based on the current condition.
For parallel imports or third-party second-hand purchases our service is often the route to original Cold Jet parts; we have a direct factory channel with Cold Jet USA. The official dealer Netherlands page explains why that distinction matters in practice.

What does a ColdBlast Cold Jet service agreement include?
A ColdBlast service agreement covers preventive maintenance (one or two visits per year), NEN 3140 inspection, original Cold Jet parts, priority response on faults and remote diagnostics through Cold Jet CONNECT®. The exact frequency depends on your production intensity; we tailor the package to your situation.
How quickly are you on site when a fault occurs?
For clients with an active service agreement we aim to be on site within 24 hours. For critical installations we can agree a fixed SLA. Our service engineers are factory-trained and carry most spare parts in stock.
Do you handle the legally required NEN 3140 inspection?
Yes. Cold Jet machines are electrical devices and fall under the NEN 3140 inspection requirement (annually or biennially, depending on use). We carry out the inspection during routine maintenance and provide the certificate for your safety file.
Can I get service if I did not buy my Cold Jet through ColdBlast?
Yes. We also service Cold Jet machines bought elsewhere, whether original or parallel import. Our factory-trained engineers know every model. You can request a service contract; we discuss the current condition of the machine first.
Can a service contract be bundled with a lease?
Yes. An operational lease often bundles maintenance, service and NEN inspection into the fixed monthly fee. Our leasing partner works with us on this. See also our financing page for the lease options.
How much does a service contract cost?
The price depends on machine type, intensity of use, location and SLA level. For a typical industrial i³ MicroClean or Aero 40FP the annual service cost runs from a few hundred to over a thousand euros. We prepare a quote for your specific situation.
What if my machine is older and no longer supported?
Cold Jet supports most models for many years after release. On older units we can often still provide maintenance until a critical part is no longer available. At that point we advise trading in for a newer unit or a second-hand demo unit.
